Spanish Coffee recipe by Fable and Fizz

 

One of my favourite books ever is the atmospheric, mysterious The Shadow of the Wind’ by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.

Set in Barcelona in the 1940s, this book is about all things ‘bookish’, including a gorgeously named library called the ‘cemetery of forgotten books’. The writing — translated from its original Spanish — is borderline poetry, while the plot is beguiling and full of intrigue.

You will be transported to the cobbled streets and cafés of this remarkable city while reading this tale, so why not do the same with a tipple that does the same? This is super easy and delicious and features one of my favourite liqueurs, too.

Ingredients

  • 50ml Licor 43 Original (1 part)
  • 200ml hot brewed coffee (4 part)
  • Lightly whipped cream
  • Garnish: cocoa or ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. Warm up the Licor 43 in your glass and pour the hot coffee over the top.
  2. Stir gently before finishing with the whipped cream and cocoa or cinnamon powder garnish.
